Hello fellow Yogis.
My name is Gita LaFortune. Originally from Lithuania, after 20 years of hustle and bustle life in Chicago area, and calling Marco Island our vacation destination for decades, we finally moved to the area in 2021. After testing several yoga studios, I fell in love with Soul Project Yoga and Wellness Studio on Marco Island, which became my primary yoga studio, where I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in January, 2025. We are so conditioned by our environment, society, lifestyles to basically sleepwalk through our lives: being busy and multitasking is applauded and encouraged, something to brag about. It’s like we are running from ourselves. As Joe Dispenza says, “we self-program ourselves and go through life repeating the same pattern”. Yoga practice brings me back to the present moment. By stepping onto the mat, I am stepping into my own life. Reconnecting with my mind through my body. One of the things I want to share as a yoga teacher: bring awareness and awaken the passion for our lives, the joy of living and experiencing this beautiful existence, that feeling we were born with but long forgotten and/or neglected. My wish to myself and every fellow human: may we live from our hearts and in love vibration.
