Grace Furnari is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School RYS I have been a practitioner of Hatha Yoga since My journey into yoga started over in when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia The fatigue and pain was so debilitating it affected my work and everyday life I started practicing yoga on a weekly basis and within a few months I saw my symptoms start to diminish In I decided to share my experience with others through teaching and became a certified yoga instructor through the Finding Inner Peace Yoga School I am a certified Hatha Yoga instructor trained in the Iyengar style using props and modifications for each pose My classes are suited for students of all levels incorporating moderate flow yoga along with breath work and meditation /relaxation I have taught at the Vanderbilt Club and Work out World in Norwood as well as Spectrum Yoga and the Healing Moon Wellness Center both formally of Norwood I teach private instruction as well with students ranging from to years of age! I also specialize in Yoga for Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue and Arthritis and in January of I taught at the Finding Inner Peace Yoga Schools teachers seminar entitled “Yoga for Health Problems” sharing my experiences on teaching students with Fibromylagia CFS and Arthritis I also studied and received a special certification to teach seniors and currently teach a morning Yoga for Posture and Balance class at the Norwood and Dedham Senior Centers I have taught this class since and it has been a joy seeing my students improve their posture and balance allowing them to enjoy a great quality of life well into their s and beyond! While at Spectrum Yoga and the Healing Moon I taught various weekly series classes such as Yoga for Fibromyalgia and Yoga for Posture and Balance I also taught several workshops including Yoga for Autoimmune Disorders Yoga for Stress and Anxiety “Release Your Hips “ for tight hips Yoga for the Yoga for Detox after the holidays and Yoga for the Heart Chakra a Valentines Day favorite! I believe the use of yoga in all its forms; asana breath and meditation are fundamental in maintaining and enriching my life and the lives of my clients I continue to pursue yoga as a career and spend each day practicing and sharing my experience with others.
