I am joy.
About
I am joy.
I learned from one of my teachers that the path of Kundalini yoga is a path of love to love, a path of joy to joy, and that the objective is to help us actualize our higher selves. My journey with Kundalini yoga and meditation began on the beach in Fort Lauderdale under the Full Sturgeon Moon in 2021. My life was forever changed beginning with that very first practice. I found a training program the following morning, and dove into the practice with an open, joyful heart. My journey with Kundalini yoga and meditation has helped me to peel back the layers of protection that we all build around our hearts as we experience life. Think about a newborn baby. A pure soul. And, then think about those times in your life, especially when you were young, when you were hurt. We get punished. We fail. We are rejected, disappointed. Our hearts are broken. We experience trauma. All of this is part of life. But when we are hurt, we try to protect ourselves. So, we build walls to protect our hearts. We add layers upon layers of protection until we are so separated from our true selves, our pure souls, that we forget. Kundalini yoga helps us to peel back those layers so that we can remember who we are in our very souls. It’s not learning. It’s remembering, which is an entirely different sensation. It feels like coming home to yourself. The practice of Kundalini yoga and meditation has helped me to remember that I am joy. I wear many hats in this life, and I have many sources of joy. I am a practicing attorney, dog mom, notary, party mom, wedding officiant, home chef, and Kundalini yoga and meditation guide. I love learning, nature, music, reading, dark starry skies, forging deep connections, celebrating holidays, and life. I'm like a crow in that I like to gather the sparkly things that bring me joy and gift them to my special humans. This is how I approach guiding practice. I incorporate inspiring words, beautiful music, joyful movement, mantra, meditation, the occasional costume, a bit of dancing, and a bit of singing into my practices. So, grab your mat, a meditation pillow (a throw pillow or folded towel works too), a bottle of water, and a box of tissues; and let's get lifted! I am so grateful for this incredible gift, and I am grateful and honored to be able to share it with you. Sat Nam!
