About
Heather is originally from Illinois, but she has lived in Maryland since 1990 and calls the East Coast home.
She is married to Bob and has two beautiful red-headed daughters, Hannah, age 23, and Chloe, age 20. During their childhood, Heather was a stay-at-home mom and freelance editor. Being a mom has been her life’s greatest joy. Heather has always been very active, playing softball and biking as a young person, teaching and participating in aerobics, and finding a deep love for running after becoming a mom. She completed her one and only marathon in 2002 and has completed numerous 10Ks and half-marathons. Heather took her first yoga class at a gym in 2007 but didn’t really discover yoga until 2010, when she experienced a serious bout of anxiety. Yoga helped her find peace, acceptance, strength, and compassion through movement, breath, and yoga philosophy. She completed her 200-hour power yoga certification on July 14, 2014. She just completed a 30-hour Yin Yoga training, and is very excited to share both yin and yang yoga with her students and family. Heather’s favorite yoga pose is Half Moon. This pose allows students to ground down into the earth, find ease in difficulty, and be powerful and yet graceful. Heather loves yoga philosophy and brings inspirational teachings to her classes. She nurtures her students to let go and find peace, strength, growth, and joy while on the mat. Off the mat, you will find Heather walking in the woods with her husband and their dachshund, Willi, spending time with family and friends, reading about yoga, knitting blankets for friends, going to the movies, and sharing her positive, loving outlook with everyone she meets.
