About
I have been enjoying the benefits of yoga in my life for more than eight years, and for more than three years I've been sharing the joy of yoga with others. In 2009, I decided to deepen my personal practice by gifting myself a month of yoga with Dagmar Spremberg at Montezuma Yoga in Costa Rica.
Later that year, I entered a master’s program in liberal arts and gender studies at the University of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, I had the unexpected yet illuminating experience of sharing yoga with women in jail through a health education and service learning course. The transformation I saw in my fellow students after 15 minutes of weekly yoga for 12 weeks inspired me to teach. In 2012, I completed a 9-month, 260-hour yoga teacher certification course through Nancy Ruby's YogaMotion. More recently, my practice and teaching have been influenced and inspired by Christina Sell, Rolf Gates, and Seane Corn. I specialize in active restoration of the body and mind through yoga. I teach and support curious beginners as they develop strength and stamina as well as calm and clarity. I also work with athletes, helping them to achieve optimal performance and reduce injury. For me, the practice of yoga is about spreading peace one breath at a time which is why I decided to create Breathelight.
