About
A lifelong lover of sports and fitness, Heidi tried her first yoga class in 2001.
She returned to yoga sporadically, as a form of cross-training for long-distance running and other forms of exercise. After a decade of long-distance running, including several marathons and half-marathons, she felt her body was telling her to try something else. It was at this time that she embraced yoga with a more open mind and has not looked back. Over time, she discovered the beauty of yoga well beyond the physical practice and the mat. She obtained her RYT 200 in March 2017 and her RYT 500 in September 2020. Inherently curious, Heidi is a lifelong learner. Heidi is a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, trained through Brown University's School of Public Health. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. In addition to teaching yoga, she also taught inclusionary preschool for over twenty years. She currently owns her own wellness and consulting business in which she shares tools of mindfulness, stress-reduction, yoga, and meditation with schools, businesses, and individuals. She is a wife and mom of two boys and cherishes spending time with her family and friends. Heidi is also a lover of all things strange and weird. She loves to laugh, eat good food, and spend time in connection with nature. She is inspired by her family, music, connecting with others, and seeing people cultivate awareness and break through barriers. She enjoys teaching yoga to all ages and hopes to cultivate an experience for her yoga students that facilitates inquiry and growth.
