About
You know when you have that thought,"I really need to try that," over and over again? When something is just calling to you, but you don't know why? That's what yoga was for me, and it was calling me for years.
So when I finally went to my first Bikram class I became instantly hooked. I walked out feeling like I had dropped pounds of emotional and spiritual weight that I had been carrying for very long time, and each class brought more and more release. Since then yoga has turned my life and myself into something I can be proud of. It's brought me community, courage, and healing deeper than I can express. I received my certification as a 200 RYT from Sacred as of February 2014, which was by far one of the best things I’ve chosen to do. Being able to share and teach this practice - a practice that has the power to cultivate indescribable strength and empowerment - is something I feel incredibly blessed to do. Because yoga is truly the practice of life, and what we let go of on the mat we let go in our lives. It's not about the poses, and it's not about the flexibility, but it is about how the physical practice deepens and centers the self closer and closer to the soul, allowing us to just clearly be who we are meant to be. In 2018 I opened a yoga studio (YES Studio) with a business partner. At the core of YES was my mission to provide a safe, supportive and healing space for every single person that walked through our doors, staff and students alike. My understanding of people expanded, and I learned invaluable knowledge about boundaries, emotional intelligence, and resolving inner and outer conflicts in myself and others. It required all of my capabilities and grit, and illuminated inner talents and desires I had previously been unaware of owning. Being able to harness the genius of fellow teachers and healers, and bring them together in a space devoted to healing and self-improvement that impacted thousands was immeasurably rewarding. Creating YES was the one of the most profound experiences of my life. In July 2020, I chose to step down as co-owner as it had become clear that the business partnership was not sustainable. I temporarily paused teaching in order to reconnect with my own practice and establish a new foundation from which to give. I'm thrilled to say that I'm back teaching in my new home of Rockland County, NY and hope to see you in class soon.
