Jalila Bell (@TroubleEsquire) is a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, educator, and certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher (Power of Now Oasis, Bali).
A graduate of the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, Mills College Dance Department, and the American Dance Festival, she blends yoga, modern, contemporary-urban, and house dance to explore transformation and embodied liberation. Her performance credits include World Dance Fusion Company (NYC/SF) and Vissi Dance Theater (NYC), where she appeared at Jacobs Pillow Outside, the Skirball Center for the Arts, NYC Fringe Festival, and the Gran Gala Della Danza in Italy. Her work has been presented at the Diego Rivera Theater, John Ryan Theater, and Lisser Hall, and her recent film Culture Connects Us continues her vision of art as healing, inquiry, and connection.
