I started my yoga practice in 2008 to help relax.
As I have explored other forms of fitness I continue to come back yoga and explored many styles of yoga from power yoga to restorative yoga. Yoga is a practice and a journey with more to learn every day. Yoga creates space to let go of negativity and embrace positivity and relaxation and help relieve tension from the day. When we let go of where we want to be or where we think we should be we can enjoy the present moment. I used to think of yoga was not a workout or even something that would cause me to break a sweat. Then I started going to yoga classes and found when I was engaging my muscles and aligning my body in various poses there was more to it than just stretching. I build my classes to help improve fitness, flexibility, balance and relaxation and relieve stress. I use a variety of yoga styles to keep classes from getting boring. I offer modifications so students can lessen or increase the level to create their own practice. I embrace a positive and light atmosphere and encourage smiles and some laughter and fun. As the reward for sticking with the practice I end each class with a guided meditation to help restore and journey towards relaxation.
