About
Jane Silva Depp (RYT-500, MMTCP Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher) began practicing yoga in her early forties to give her legs a much needed stretch after many years of running.
While yoga provided the increased flexibility she sought, she was equally drawn to the practice’s quieter side which offered a sense of peaceful grounding through embodied presence. Jane also loved practicing in community and meeting new friends. Jane is a graduate of the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP), a two year program with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, and is certified by both the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley. Jane completed her 200-hour yoga training at Darling Yoga in Kansas City and completed an additional 300-hour training with the Summers School of Yin Yoga in Maine. Jane has a B.S. in nutrition from the University of Vermont and worked as a healthcare data analyst for several years. She and her husband have the good fortune to be the parents of three adult children. In her classes, Jane strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for ALL students. Her classes offer mindful movement, embodied stillness in poses, and guided focus on the present moment.
