Toure` Akela

She is the founder of Southwest Atlanta Yoga, a studio located in the historic district of Atlanta Georgia. While deepening her studies, she discovered that yoga is a live entity, which will find you and guide one to a place to make change and bring balance into one’s life. Surrendering to the power of yoga allowed her to live more confidently. Assuring her, that the gift to share and expose yoga to a community where many residents have been practicing in the shadows, even in a bustling metropolis, can be accomplished with the unwavering strength and reach of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Even in finding Him or building ones personal relationship even more deeply in while in safe exploration of Eastern, Hindu and Vedic text. Toure' teaches Hatha Yoga and blends Shamanic techniques in her signature Shamanic Contemporary Hatha Fusion 90-min yoga class. Toure` is an Army Veteran, mother of a 15-year-old son, has a career in Oncology Informatics, enjoys her two dogs, live music and studying Christian Mysticism. She is a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and is active in the Atlanta Shamanic Community. Toure` believes the power of the breath is where one can find the Holy Spirit which is an available to find on the mat.
