Jessica Gershwin received her 200-hour registered yoga teacher certificate from Sonic Yoga (NYC) in 2009 and her 95-hour registered children's yoga teacher certificate from Little Flower Yoga (NYC) in 2011.
Jessica has also completed trainings through the Lineage Project, Street Yoga, BabyOm, and Jason Ray Brown's Yoga Anatomy for Movement Professionals. Most recently, she completed a Teacher Renewal Training with Jason Crandell and is also working towards a certificate in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga through the Trauma Center in Boston. Jessica has taught yoga to children, teens, and adults in diverse settings, including public, private, and alternative schools, shelters, community centers, and outpatient mental health clinics. In 2016, Jessica was hired as a Street Yoga Trainer, where she has the privilege of offering Trauma-Informed Yoga for Youth trainings across the country. Jessica was also the lead trainer for Young Yokes - Kids Yoga in Denver, Colorado. In addition to teaching yoga, Jessica is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice (www.heartfulroots.com). She currently integrates yoga and mindfulness into her clinical work with youth and families, and trains professionals and families about child development and trauma-informed care. Jessica strives to show up in the world with joy, authenticity, and an open heart so that each individual - child, teen, or adult - can experience a sense of unconditional belonging, empowerment, and self-discovery.
