Originally from India, Jigna began her yoga journey at a young age during her elementary school years. In 2010, she moved to Georgia and joined a non-profit organization focused on spiritual enrichment and self-development, which deepened her dedication to the path. With extensive experience, Jigna is a registered instructor with Yoga Alliance, holding credentials that include 200 hours of Hatha Yoga (E-YRT 200), 150 hours in Pranayama, and Level 1 Yoga Nidra teacher training. Since 2018, she has been rigorously practicing Iyengar Yoga and Pranayama under the guidance of her mentors, continuously refining her skills and techniques. In addition to her physical practice, she has immersed herself in the study of yoga philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Shree Mad Bhagwad Gita, and Vedic contemplation, which she has been studying online since 2018. Jigna’s teaching style is grounded in her deep understanding of alignment, making her classes accessible and preparative for beginners. As her students develop a foundation in proper alignment, she skillfully guides them into intermediate and advanced postures. Her approach is thoughtful and precise, with a presence that is weighty, compassionate, and inviting. She skillfully tailors her instruction to students’ needs, using props such as yoga chairs, bolsters, belts, blocks, and blankets to make postures accessible and safe for all levels. Jigna has been sharing her expertise with the local community at public libraries in Milton and Woodstock since 2018. Since 2020, she has expanded her teaching to online platforms, offering chair yoga, mat yoga, pranayama, and contemplation classes. Currently, she teaches alignment-based classes at The Posture Project yoga studio. With years of practice and teaching experience, Jigna believes that yoga has the power to shift inner energy at various levels, sparking the transformative journey of self-development.
