Jill Shaw has been practicing yoga since June 2006.
She started the practice looking for a way to relieve job and life stress and relax. Like many people, Jill thought that yoga would be some stretching and easy movements and didn’t know that ‘Power Yoga’ existed. Quite surprised by her first class, she was initially drawn to the physical challenge of a power or vinyasa based class. As her practice continued, Jill became more aware of the mental benefits of the practice and believes it has helped her to be a better mother, friend, employee and person. As she developed awareness of herself and her practice, this awareness has flowed into all areas of her life. Jill believes everyone can do yoga but knows everyone doesn’t have access to it; so, in 2016, Jill went through instructor training with the intent of bringing yoga into her workplace at a Police department. Jill received her certificate through the Dallas Yoga Center in January 2017.
