“Training in Korea has allowed me to be exposed to a type of yoga that embodies their tranquil and very enduring culture. After having lived in South Korea for over half my life, I’ve learned that the people have so much determination and perseverance that even in the yoga studio the classes can be trying yet very rewarding. In my training, I was challenged physically… but more than ever I was challenged to look inward with a colorless lens. This truly changed and rooted me deeply because once I saw myself in a clearer light, through my yoga practice, I saw not only greater energy and potential but also those memories, experiences, and feelings that I had been avoiding or misinterpreting. I was able to console and nurture my inner child and heal. My experience in Korea definitely shaped me to approach everything without judgement, but love, with endurance and a free spirit yet with the gentleness that you need when you approach a child—that everyone is… On a fun note: I also love to sing and play my guitar. I love the different smells of nature. And of course, I love yoga. If I could use a metaphor, I would say that yoga is a bridge. A bridge that connects people, places, and a bridge that connects me to myself. I think every time I cross the bridge it's always a new experience and that's what makes yoga such a magical thing to me.“
