Joan Helen Farrenkopf is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School RYS Receiving a competitive fine art scholarship Joan graduated with honors from Syracuse University Syracuse New York and further studied at the London College of Printing London England and is an artist in residence in Berlin Germany She currently is studying for her Master of Fine Arts at Syracuse University Her Fine Art Photography was shown in one women shows at the Everson Syracuse NY Ohio and West Virginia including guest artist/speaker with the Margaret Bourke-White Exhibit Her photographic images are in the permanent collection of the Canton Art Institute A deep interest in the transformative power of art has continued throughout her subsequent professional life Beyond the external involvements of an early life Joan embarked on a transformative journey studying with Howard Bad Hand a Lakota Spiritual teacher and master of the I Ching the basis of Taoist philosophy This study of more than years took Joan beyond her role as student to that of facilitating workshops for her teacher in the US and Germany Joan is a licensed Cranial SacralTherapy CST and is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT and a National Continuing Education Provider for National Board of Massage and BodyworkerTherapies Her professional practice is part of the HealingArts Network at New Hanover RegionalMedical Center and Womens Center in Wilmington NC for the past years She is a mentor to practitioners and teaches “SubtleTherapeutics” workshops fortherapists to further their practice Nationally she acted as a teaching assistant and preceptor of advanced CST training for the Upledger Institute West Palm Florida the teaching institute for CST She researched dolphin assistedtherapy and is a therapistat-large for the Dolphin Research Institute Grassy Key Florida Joan is a joyous teacher Her unique approach - a lifelong study of art andhealing - has become her profession - and her passion.
