About

Yoga first introduced itself to me during my formal science-based education.

Although interesting and mysterious at the time, I wasn’t prepared for the challenging introspection that the philosophy invites. Eventually I began incorporating pranayama techniques and actions of the mula bandha into my work as an occupational therapist with older adults and the very ill. Witnessing the strength of the mind-body connection, and how brightly the human spirit shines through adversity inspired me to earnestly study yoga philosophy and asana practice. I completed my 200 RYT certification in 2012 & 500 RYT certification in 2014 with Hilaire Lockwood at Hilltop Yoga. I have since studied with David Swenson & Shelley Washington during a week-long intensive, attended the Ashtanga Confluence in San Diego, taken Katy Jo's yin yoga intensive training at Lovelight Collective, and taken the LoveYourBrain training for healthcare professionals. Although I have studied yoga for over 15 years, earned my ERYT-500 certification, and have become accredited as a continuing education provider with the yoga alliance (YACEP), I humbly accept that there is so much more to the philosophy, and I eagerly continue to learn. My teaching is an extension of my own practice. I look forward to welcoming each student into my room. I strive to challenge the class in a light and loving way while fostering a safe space for every body.
