About
A Life of MovementFrom toddler-hood through the 20s, Movement captivated in the form of gymnastics and dance—because admit it, who at some point in youth hasn’t wanted to know what it’s like to do a cartwheel or a handstand, or daringly, a back flip? It stuck.
It came naturally. Enthrallment was inevitable. In those first 20+ years, movement became a language of expression—beautiful and powerful. It revealed how aches in body and mind could be eased, and conversely, how movement without mindfulness could result in pain, disorientation, and fear.Choreography and coaching for competitive advanced-level gymnasts followed for the next 22 years, amplifying awareness of body alignment—on four different pieces of equipment, various levels on the ground, in the air, and on both axes: longitudinal and latitudinal. Injury prevention remained a constant priority among staff.Love of movement—and yes, the inevitable pain that comes with it—opened the door to yoga and alternative healing modalities. Retirement from coaching brought years of study in enhancing the body’s self-restorative powers holistically, naturally, and safely to restore comfort and function. Recent credentials span therapeutic yoga, energy medicine yoga, and integrative practices such as neuro-kinetics and somatic movement therapy—each enriching the mind and body’s capacity for balance, resilience, and vitality.Throughout life, Movement has been a study in expression, awareness, sensation, healing, and safety. Approaching Senior-hood, safety has become paramount.Gratitude flows in sharing this experience and knowledge so others may continue to enjoy Movement’s gifts of ease and expression long into the silver years.YACEP®, E-RYT®500Certified Brain Fitness Coach, ISSACertified Teacher of Gentle Somatic Yoga®, Levels 1, 2, 3 Certified Teacher of EMYoga®, an integrative practice incorporating energetic techniques RYT 300 - Glenmore Yoga & Wellness, Mind and Body Focus RYT 200 - Evolve Yoga & Wellness, Interdisciplinary YTT 100 hrs - Body Balance Yoga Therapy School Integrative approach specializing in Somatic Movement, Self-Myofascial Release, Neurological Re-patterning, Musical Chair Yoga, and Applied Energy.
