I started practicing yoga about 15 years ago as a way to escape chronic pain and stress.

Over the years, a combination of movement-based physical therapy, contemplative practice, and yoga moved me from a place of weakness and fear to a place of physical comfort, mental clarity, and profound spiritual growth. My classes combine a steady attention to the breath with mindful movement and a focus on proper physical alignment. While instruction is rooted in a vinyasa flow practice, I often incorporate yin and restorative techniques. I am particularly interested in how the practice helps people manage physical challenges, life transitions, loss/grief, and addiction. I teach two courses at Elon University that challenge students to examine how media and communication shape our understanding of yoga, mindfulness, and other contemplative practices in modern America culture. I completed teacher training in 2014 at Boston Yoga School under the direction of Ame Wren. In 2018, I completed 85 hours of Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training at Blue Point Yoga in Durham, NC.
