Kami Kessel, MBA, is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (eRYT500) and Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
She completed her 500-hour training with Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute and her 200-hour training at Nest Yoga with Mary Paffard and Richard Rosen. Kami has additional training in yoga therapy, trauma-informed care, psychological first aid, and eating disorders treatment. With public classes, workshops, and private sessions, Kami serves her community in three Twin Cities locations: Sankalpa Therapy and Wellness Center in Bloomington, and Tula Yoga and Wellness in St. Paul. Kami specializes in gentle, soothing yoga (movement, breathing, and meditation) that calms the central nervous system. Her approach is informed by somatics, SomaYoga and trauma-sensitive yoga. Kami is a full-time wellness professional at Presbyterian Homes. Kami's clients include active aging adults, attorneys, executives, registered nurses, military veterans, and other professionals, busy people who need to heal pain so they can do what matters. Also a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Fitness Instructor, and Board Certified Health and Well-being Coach, Kami offers leadership coaching, and is the author of several books about well-being, including Mindfulness Meditation for Beginners and Sleep Better Tonight. Kami has been practicing yoga since she was seven years old. She used to work in database technology and was a performing musician with two albums published as Kami Nixon.
