Katharine, or Katie as she is better known, began practicing yoga in the mid to late 2000s after a therapist recommended she try a different kind of exercise due to debilitating anxiety and panic attacks.
She started with the well-known teacher Rodney Yee at home on DVDs and cried tears of gratitude for finally feeling able to fully breathe again. Katie took her first teaching training in January of 2010. Little did she know the transformative healing journey that would begin after that, including dealing with the traumatic grief of losing her mother to suicide just weeks before her 4th birthday.Katie has completed 600+ hours of training with YogaFit including 400 hours in yoga therapy. She has completed over 500 hours of learning with Sattva Yoga Academy based in Rishikesh, India. Finally she has completed over 150 hours of training in other areas.
