In at my mom dropped me off at my first Led Primary class Despite regularly attending heated vinyasa classes for a year like most peoples first Led class I was surprised inspired and extremely humbled There werent any Ashtanga teachers near my hometown so I quickly became a hot yoga fanatic and completed my -Hour RYT with Petra Lehman-Brauer at Create Power Yoga as a college student in Upon graduating I made my mark as a strong Power Yoga teacher while still exploring creative sequencing and remaining curious about Ashtanga yoga I became part of a Mysore program in my later college years but the method still hadnt quite stuck for me I continued my yoga education through several Hands-On Assisting Trainings and have found great reward in helping those who wish to receive guidance through physical touch In addition I completed my -Hour RYT with Down Under School of Yoga with Natasha Rizopoulos as my lead trainer in December During this training I worked to define my voice as a teacher and dive deeper into anatomy breath sequencing and yoga theory Before I am a teacher I am always a student and I believe there is always room to grow and learn In September I began an Ashtanga practice with Randy Aromando Although I had fallen in and out of Ashtanga yoga previously it was Randy who taught me true dedication to the method This practice has taken me deeper into my yoga studies and continues to inspire my teaching In the spring of I completed another -Hour RYT Training at Yoga East with Kimberly Dahlmann Studying with Kimberly has been one of the greatest joys on my journey and is something I hope to continue for as long as possible Her extensive knowledge and gentle delivery of the Ashtanga method have been a true inspiration Under her watchful eye I feel like I have flourished as a practitioner The current owner of Yoga East Chris Rubin has also been a generous mentor She has welcomed me into her community and given me the opportunity to teach both Mysore and Led classes at her studio helping me every step of the way It is my goal to share what I have learned and experienced in my body with others—whether its asana meditation pranayama or chanting This practice has changed my life and I am deeply grateful to be able to share it with others In class I dont take myself too seriously—you can expect laughter and endless opportunities for questions I am passionate about alignment and will work to help you find it in a way thats unique to your body and lifestyle Coming to class means joining a community and I cant wait to welcome you into it.
