My yoga journey began shortly after getting my first full-time desk job in 2009.
Like many others, after sitting all day at a desk in front of a computer and then going home to sit in front of the TV, my body just didn’t feel good. So I started yoga looking for the physical benefits it offers, and I wasn’t disappointed. My body grew stronger, and I felt better. Sitting at my desk no longer caused me the same issues. But that’s not the end of the story. Yoga has given me so much more than just the physical benefits! It truly is the gift that keeps on giving. It taught me to slow down and pay attention. I gained more knowledge of my body and also my mind. I realized how much stress I was experiencing, and how that was affecting my life in numerous ways. I learned about mindfulness and how it can counteract the stress and anxiety of our modern lives. Yoga has given me the mental space and awareness to see myself and my surroundings more clearly, so that I’m more at ease in the world. I have found strength and resilience, both mental and physical. As a teacher, I want to share what I’ve learned and experienced with others. My goal is to offer balanced, well-rounded classes focused on enhancing our mind-body connection, while building strength in our body and resilience in our mind.
