Kate Mitcheom MSN, CNM, RYT is a teacher with the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness, and consults on staff development training for hospitals, health centers, schools, and universities throughout Connecticut and New England.
She has been practicing and teaching meditation and yoga for twenty years and trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) with Jon Kabat-Zinn. Kate also completed training in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive ______ (MBCT) and completed her yoga teacher training with Todd Norian. In 1996 she founded the MBSR Program at the Fair Haven Community Health Center in New Haven, CT, where she taught meditation and yoga to pregnant women and their partners in the inner city and offers MBSR for patients with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. In 2017 Kate completed and was certified by Dr. Loren Fishman and Ellen Saltonstall in Yoga for Osteoporosis
