About
Kathy was introduced to yoga during a required workplace wellness initiative in the late ‘90s, when she worked as the director of marketing in the stressful, fast-paced environment of a toy manufacturer.
A long-time group fitness junkie, Kathy was drawn to the physical challenge of yoga while crawling out of her multi-tasking skin during the quiet stillness of savasana. Fast-forward 25 years, and although she still enjoys peak pose classes and workshops, today, Kathy mixes in a heaping helping of slower-paced flows, and classes like Yin and restorative. At the age of 55, Kathy decided it was finally time to share the life-changing practice of yoga with others and enrolled in teacher training. The oldest in her class, Kathy is walking proof that anyone can “do yoga” - and it’s her personal mission to make the biggest skeptics believe they can, too! Outside of yoga, Kathy is Chief Advancement Officer at The John Carroll School in Bel Air, where she manages marketing, communications and development. She has two adult daughters who are her pride and joy, and will celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary this June. Kathy is also a tireless advocate for mental health, volunteering with several suicide prevention groups. She is a certified QPR trainer, and has shared this suicide prevention training with groups including teachers, first responders and teens. Kathy teaches vinyasa and hatha classes to groups and individuals. Her passion is making yoga accessible to everyone, including beginners, people who “aren’t flexible,” and those with physical restrictions.
