About
Katie began her yoga journey in 2016.
Suffering from anxiety, weight and health issues, and poor self-esteem she knew she needed to make real long-term changes in her life. Yoga allowed her to build strength, increase flexibility and balance, learn to love her body again, and tame the anxiety through mindfulness, meditation, and breath work. The changes she experienced over the years has led to a desire to deepen her practice and to share her story and love of yoga with others. Katie is a 200 Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Buti Yoga instructor. Katie's classes focus on celebrating and loving your body, letting go of judgement, being present, linking breath and movement, and most of all having fun! She incorporates quotes into her classes as a way to motivate, challenge, and encourage her students. Her classes are suitable for any age or fitness level. She believes that yoga should be accessible to everyone and free from judgement. She is a yoga mama and partner and civil liberties warrior. In addition to practicing and teaching yoga, Katie also holds a Masters in Public Administration and Bachelors in English Literature and currently serves as the Director of Administration and Finance for the ACLU of Missouri. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping and traveling, and making memories.
