About
Katy Blum began her yoga journey in San Francisco, CA in 2003 after giving birth to her first child.
Hoping to find balance as she transitioned into motherhood she studied yoga, meditation, and was trained in Energy Healing. Katy discovered that her practices encouraged a deeper connection with herself, others, and beyond. After relocating to Madison, WI, and having her second child, her love of yoga broadened. Katy decided to turn her passion into a career so she could share what she had experienced with others. Katy is a ERYT500 through Mark Stephens Yoga, certified in Power Yoga through Bryan Kest and has completed an Ashtanga Teacher's Training with Manju Pattabhi Jois. Additionally she holds teaching certificates in Senior Yoga, Yin and Restorative Yoga, Sound Healing and Mantra, Chakra Balancing, Life Coaching, and is a certified hands-on teaching assistant as well as a Reiki Practitioner. In 2015 Katy founded Blue Soul Yoga and Wellness Center to offer students a space to explore and deepen their practice. In 2017 she founded The Blue Soul School of Yoga and developed a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program with the intention to encourage and support others on their journey of self-discovery and transformation through the study of yoga. Katy offers a guided yoga practice that is both joyful and peaceful; helping others cultivate self-awareness, self-acceptance, strength, compassion and connection to source. She encourages her students to focus on breathing and turning inward to experience a meditation in motion. Currently Katy offers zoom and in-person studio yoga classes, private yoga classes, corporate yoga classes, chair yoga, and Reiki sessions. She leads 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings in Illinois and Wisconsin as well as workshops and retreats!
