About

Kaylyn Wright is a dedicated yoga teacher and wellness practitioner whose journey with yoga began in 2016 after the passing of his grandmother.

Experiencing this loss sparked his lifelong practice with meditation and yoga. The following year, he bought his first mat at a yard sale on college move-in day and began a daily ritual of sun salutations. ~~~ Kaylyn Wright Yoga Teacher | Facilitator | Artist While earning his B.A. in Psychology from Pitzer College in 2021, Kaylyn expanded his understanding of mental health and became aware of inequalities in the wellness industry. That same year, he embarked on a rites of passage experience for young adults — three days of fasting alone in the desert — where he confronted his fears and deepened his connection to nature, prayer, and purpose. In the midst of the pandemic, Kaylyn faced another turning point after experiencing a mental health crisis that led to hospitalization and a period of homelessness. It was during this challenging time that he turned to his mat as space to be held in what felt like rock bottom. This season humbled him to the importance of genuine self care and compassion for the human condition. In 2025, Kaylyn completed his first Yoga Teacher Training with Black Boys Om School of Yoga over a six-month period. Diving deep into yoga practice and philosophy felt like a dear friend walking with him on his path to recovery as he found mental, physical, and spiritual stability. Yoga became not just a practice, but a companion. Today, Kaylyn integrates breathwork, meditation, and mindful movement into his teaching, offering a compassionate and curious space for students to explore tenderness and embrace healing. His highest intention is that you walk away from sessions feeling a refreshed sense of authenticity and permission to move through life at their own pace. When he is not on the mat or creating music, he teaches at Smiling Boys Project and Earth Lodge Center for Transformation as a facilitator and program coordinator. Kaylyn Wright is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance through Black Boys Om School of Yoga.
