About
In 2011, I began practicing yoga due to an injury that prevented me from engaging in sports-related activities.
Yoga seemed like my only option for a while so I begrudgingly gave it a try. I thought it would be too boring, but I ended up liking it - a lot, in fact. Walking out of class, I took free strides without restrictions in my hips. That one class felt like it unwound years of high intensity activity that had taken a toll on my body.I soon realized that the practice and traditions of yoga offered much more than a physical exercise outlet. It completely transformed the way I move and relate to myself and my body - not only a physical level, but emotional, mental and energetic levels as well. After years of practice, I completed my 200 hour training at Mellow Monkey Yoga Studio in 2020. I continue to learn techniques to bring the benefits of yoga to beginners and experienced students alike.ADDITIONAL TRAINING:Yoga for Hypermobility (Yoga Medicine, 4 hr) Lymphatics Yoga Teacher Training (Yoga Medicine, 14 hr)Polyvagal Theory Applied to Yoga Therapy (The Embody Lab, 20 hr)Kelly is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
