About
My first yoga experience was in high school, but at that time I thought it was too slow for me.
Years later, however, I found my way back onto my mat after having some health issues. At that time, I saw the transformative nature of the practice — physically, mentally and spiritually. Then I was hooked. I also realized if yoga could work for adults, children would benefit from it too. So I took yoga into the elementary schools where I taught and used it to help center, calm and focus the children. It’s an unbelievable tool! I became a Radiant Child Yoga instructor and began teaching in classrooms and day care centers around the metro area. I love children and feel if they see the benefits of yoga while they’re young, they can use it to help them grow in all aspects of their lives. I love to laugh and play with them and teach them the basics of yoga in the form of unique, fun filled classes. It’s a privilege to see them discover their inner strengths and unique challenges and to see them learn to love themselves and the world around them. Along the way I realized that the combination of my faith in God and the physical benefits of yoga are powerful. In the fall of 2016 I became a 200 hour Yoga Faith instructor which allows me to teach all ages and many styles of yoga. I draw on my deep faith in God to augment the benefits of traditional yoga. I am currently teaching yoga at area churches and by private appointment.
