Kendra Wieneke is a Registered Yoga Teacher RYT with Yoga Alliance She completed her -hour teacher training at Just Bee Yoga in Long Grove Illinois in July She has been teaching at Just Bee Hatha Yoga and Fitness in Champaign Illinois and privately since then She draws from an eclectic personal practice to design creative challenging and uplifting classes accessible for students of all levels She believes that yoga is one of the only places in life where you have the opportunity to come as you are and enjoys guiding her students towards a better understanding of themselves and others both on and off the mat She has taught ashtanga power vinyasa integrative vinyasa hatha gentle yin and restorative yoga and many of her classes incorporate elements of each style She loves to empower students to explore their strength in arm balances and inversions A former professional musician she uses music to guide all of her flows often sharing eclectic playlists with her yoga students as another aspect of community building Some of her favorite classes have been themed around music of her favorite artists -- designing winter solstice flows to the music of Fleet Foxes power yoga to the music of Radiohead and yin yoga guided solely by one instrument such as the cello or the piano She believes that by integrating music and poetry into yoga students are given a full sensory experience that helps them detach from the stresses of every day life and deeply enter into themselves in a manner that allows them to truly let go Off the mat she works the University of Illinois helping gather resources to advance education in the humanities and social sciences She lives in Champaign with her partner and rescue pup Chewie from whose downward dog she is still learning on a daily basis You can find her on instagram @_kendrasana.
