My mission is to develop connection and wellbeing in communities through making yoga mindfulness and contemplative practices accessible I actualize this mission through communication nonprofit leadership founding several successful businesses and teaching yoga Serving as Executive Director of Elevate Akron I help make yoga accessible to over people in Akron OH This role includes strategic planning budget management program development project management implementing marketing & communication strategies internally & externally cultivating relationships with &#; sponsors large-scale event planning and recruitment training and talent development of over volunteers Professionally I work full-time for Yoga Alliance — the largest worldwide nonprofit association representing the yoga community with over Registered Yoga Schools RYS and more than Registered Yoga Teachers RYT as of April We foster and support the high quality safe accessible and equitable teaching of yoga Ive studied in a variety of lineages for nearly years These many paths paved the way toward living a yogic lifestyle and teaching others I lead Registered Yoga Teacher Trainings at the hour level national and international retreats and classes to raise students self-awareness and live more meaningful lives Alongside SEER music I facilitate Guided Sound Journey meditations set to live ambient music performed at studios conferences festivals and recordings accessible on Insight Timer As a lifelong learner Ive completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Sociology and Philosophy achieved several professional certifications in Yoga Leadership Sales & Conflict Management and finished a Masters of Arts in Communication Ive learned interpersonal communication multimedia marketing intercultural communication training and pedagogy My thesis research analyzed data on the communication behaviors contemplative practices and holistic pedagogy of master yoga and meditation teachers demonstrating presence I am the Founder and Resident of the House of Big Intentions an intentional living community for young professionals centered around the practice of communication and communal living I built this community based upon my years of award-winning leadership in the Living-Learning Communities at The University of Akron.
