About

Klare (she/her/hers) is a Yoga and Meditation Instructor with over 20 years of experience on and off the mat.

Her yoga philosophy aligns with the words of psychologist and educator Rudolf Dreikurs, “People do better when they feel better.” This philosophy underpins her approach to teaching and community engagement. Professional Journey:Klare transitioned from a career in corporate retail and tech industry to education and now dedicates her full time to being a Yoga and Meditation Instructor. She actively supports organizations striving for social equity, gender equality, anti-racism, disability rights, and poverty alleviation. Teaching Focus:Currently, Klare’s classes emphasize self-compassion, interoception and proprioception awareness, physical and mental strengthening, bio-mechanical techniques and orientations for various bodies, and nervous system regulation. She advocates for a culture of “mattering,” ensuring everyone feels a sense of belonging regardless of their background or abilities. Community Involvement:Since 2022, Klare has collaborated with The Art of Yoga Project, bringing yoga and mindfulness to marginalized youth in the Bay Area. She previously taught at Be the Change Yoga and Wellness Studio, one of the few donation-based yoga studios in the area, where she led “Yoga For All Bodies” classes that emphasized self-agency and empowerment. In her role as a community enthusiast, Klare volunteered as the Youth and Family Engagement Lead for the Conscious San Jose Festival, a day of yoga, culture, arts, wellness, and community. She also co-taught Family Yoga at the Children’s Discovery Museum in San Jose. Currently, she dedicates her time to volunteering for several nonprofit organizations focused on her passions of “women leading change”, providing services to local foster youth, and acts as a parent-volunteer at her son’s school. Personal Interests and Beliefs:Klare fully embraces being a happily married wife, mom to a teen, daughter, and sister. She loves cooking, baking, reading about philosophy, contemplative traditions, science and technology, history, and the humanities. Other than being a book worm, she swears weight lifting completely changed her life. She feels nourished by the beaches and mountains of Ohlone land whenever she has the opportunity to be with nature. Klare is a practicing Buddhist, unaffiliated with any organized religion. She continues to explore and practice in various spiritual traditions and personal development organizations as a insatiable and curious learner of the human condition. Ongoing Education and Certifications:Klare is dedicated to continuing her yoga education, currently pursuing her 500HR Teaching Certification with Jason Crandell. She completed Accessible Yoga Training with Jivana Heyman in September 2021 and Trauma-Informed Yoga with Connection Coalition through Yoga for All Movement in 2019. Klare continues to takes classes and workshops to refine her knowledge, skills, and teaching techniques. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, having completed her 200HR Vinyasa Yoga teacher training at Yoga Source Los Gatos with Linda McGrath. You can view all of her trainings and certifications on her profile.
