I wasnt a huge exerciser growing up at least in the terms of going to the gym to exercise A kid of the ′s and ′s I spent my days actively playing outside It wasnt until the last part of high school where I decided to join my schools track team did I explore exercise and that was running I then joined the Air Force and learned that exercise needed to be a part of my life and being fit was actually a big deal It was in the Air Force that I discovered and fell in love with aerobics classes especially those “step” aerobics types Well long story short numerous fitness instructors encouraged me to become an instructor myself Eventually I became a certified aerobics instructor in and also what is known as an Air Force Physical Training Leader PTL back in It was also in that I started exploring classes called yoga but it wasnt until I moved to Colorado in that I got hooked and found my perfect teachers…Ellis Evelyn and Stacy that I really began to grow Since I was already an aerobics instructor these three encouraged me to pursue Yoga Instructor Training I officially became a trained yoga instructor in and registered with Yoga Alliance in April My yoga + hours of training is with two schools The first one is with YogaFit and the second is with LifePower Yoga I have all types of specialty focal areas such as trauma-sensitive yoga various vinyasa flows prenatal seniors and restorative I initially chose YogaFit because I identified with their vision of bringing yoga to the masses or yoga is for everyone/every body approach Yoga isnt some elite club or only for the rich It is for everyone! Additionally I like YogaFits class design It speaks to me and it makes sense And just so you know YogaFit is considered Hatha yoga vinyasa style My second certification is with LifePower Yoga LifePower Yoga has a great vinyasa style Besides the two schools Ive trained in GiveBackYogas MYT for Veterans hrs and am enrolled YogaFits Warriors programs hrs Additionally I am self studied and I take workshops/continuing education from as many yoga schools and other teaches and studios as I can You can definitely say Im multi influenced! Im not stopping at hours Im still learning Currently Im pursuing YogaFits hours and am considering their hours track There are a few forks in the road My education isnt just yoga as I have training with other fitness formats so Im constantly exploring continuing education options But out of all the formats yoga is my favorite!
