Kris is originally from Georgia but is currently serving in the US Air Force Reserve going on years and works as a Human Resources and Recruitment Specialist She is a mother to three girls and her husband EJ also serves in the Air Force at Langley AFB Her yoga journey started after suffering from postpartum hip and lower back issues with mild depression and anxiety after having her second child She knew she had to make her physical and mental health a priority While in postpartum recovery she discovered yoga to help with feeling strong again while noticing a shift in her mental wellness She knew that in order for her to be present with her family work and to be the best version of herself she had to dedicate time to her practice and inner healing She realized that yoga was instilling a sense of calm and purpose she never really felt before After a few years of dedicated self practice she wanted to become a yoga instructor to encourage others that we have the power to take back our physical and mental wellness within ourselves right on out mats! Another misconception that she feels is important for people to know is that you dont have to be flexible or have any experience to practice yoga All bodies are welcome and with great surprise flexibility comes naturally overtime Kristine feels that yoga is a lifetime practice and is always a student first! Kristine has taught over + hours of yoga ranging in styles of: Power Yoga Gentle Yoga & Prenatal Yoga She hopes to enroll into a Yoga Therapy program in once her kids are a little bigger Aside from yoga Kristine is a woman of Faith She enjoys going to the gym and working out with weights going for walks spending time with her family reading and traveling Kristines teaching goals are to teach body and breath awarness strength stamina balance and learning techniques to use to on and off the mat She is honored to be able to use what she learns and studies to teach others!.
