Krystin Cuthrell started her yoga journey over a decade ago, with a simple goal of finding balance and tranquility in her own life.
What began as a personal practice quickly blossomed into a deep passion for the art of yoga. Krystin completed an intensive 200 hour yoga teacher training program under the tutelage of Akasha Ellis at Birmingham Yoga in 2016 learning skills in Ashtanga yoga, Kundalini yoga, meditation, pranayama, and the art of teaching. Since 2016, she has taught various yoga classes ranging from local dance studios, gyms, community workshops, University festivals, and campus course classes for Jacksonville State University. She has been leading Introduction to Yoga course for JSU's Kinesiology Department since 2019 and is committed to helping students discover the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga. Krystin recently graduated with her masters in Mental Health Counseling Education at JSU. She currently works at JSU as a campus mental health counselor incorporating mindfulness and the art of breath regulation as a holistic form of self-care to students, faculty, and staff. Krystin resides in Jacksonville, AL with her husband, Jarrod, and their 2 cats, Lyra and Clementine.
