About
Kylie Davis is a Speech Language Pathologist, Yoga Instructor and Montessori-inspired Homeschool Mama.
She first discovered yoga while working as a Rock Climbing Instructor at Lifetime Fitness in the midwest and immediately resonated with yoga as both a physical and devotional practice. She has found that while the asanas of yoga are beneficial, the practice of yoga is so much more about where our attention lies. She believes that yoga is a tool for personal healing and has the potential to deepen anyone’s connection to God, themselves and others by reviving the quiet places of the heart where prayer and meditation patiently wait for us to arrive: she has found that in those quiet places we bring the pieces of ourselves together, find refreshment for our souls and become aware of the loving presence of God in our lives, which once encountered will inevitably flow to those around us. After 10 years of pursuing her personal practice, inspired by the growing yoga community in Montrose, Kylie decided to complete her 200-hr yoga teacher training and founded Colorado Yoga Connection LLC in 2019. Since then, she has completed additional training in Trauma Sensitive Yoga which focuses on empowering students through interoception, choice making and attunement of the breath. Her vision is to create an inviting space for her yoga students to explore their practice safely, cultivate connection and gain confidence on and off the yoga mat. She teaches donation-based Christ Centered Yoga classes with the local non-profit Revive Body & Soul Fitness at Grace Community Church in Montrose. As a follower of Christ, her study of God is rooted in biblical teaching and she is always open to getting together after class for conversation surrounding the intersections of yogic philosophy and Christian theology to share her insight and personal experience with the practices of yoga and meditation from a Christian perspective. Kylie is known for bringing yogis of all backgrounds and abilities together to form a supportive community that offers opportunities to deepen not only one’s yoga practice but the friendships made along the way. In Kylie’s classes you can expect a well-balanced vinyasa flow with opportunities to both build heat and find stillness, curated playlists and a cool lavender cloth or eye pillow in savasana. When off the mat you’ll find Kylie searching library free boxes for classic children’s picture books to read to her son, ice climbing in the San Juan backcountry with her husband or listening to an audiobook while folding the laundry. “It is possible to experience breathing as a way of actively celebrating life rather than just something we do passively in order simply to survive." ~David Emerson
