About
I am an RYT-500, RPYT, E-RYT-200 yoga teacher and doula based in St.
Louis, MO. My specialty is in teaching pre/postnatal, restorative, Yin, and trauma-informed Vinyasa yoga. My teaching journey began in 2017. After graduating with my MSc. in Global Health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and my 200-H with the New School of Yogic Arts, I moved to Myanmar to spend the summer as a baker and yoga teacher at Yangon Yoga House. I then spent 6 months living in Austria, where I taught yoga while working in migration studies in and around Vienna. From 2018-2020, I worked as a yoga teacher in Boston. Here, I taught over 1,000 hours of group classes in studios, corporate classes, private lessons, community events, volunteer outreach classes, and virtual classes until my maternity leave. During this time, I also completed my 500-H training with Laughing Lotus NYC and my prenatal yoga teacher training with Rooted Boston. After the birth of my first daughter during the pandemic, my focus shifted from in-person yoga classes to remote yoga and global health work while training to become a full-spectrum doula. While living in the Bay Area from 2021-2022, I worked for Yoga U Online and as a maternal health research analyst for Kavle Consulting, LLC while completing Cornerstone Doula's Capstone training. In the Bay Area, I also began to work as a birth doula at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. Although I am new to St. Louis, I grew up in Southern Illinois, and I am excited to become a part of the yoga and reproductive justice world here. Please reach out to me if you're local and would like to connect about yoga, birthwork, or anything else! Why I Teach Yoga has served as a tool for centering during my years as a competitive runner; for grounding through the chaos of post-grad school global travel; and for connecting with my body throughout my experience of pregnancies and parenthood in the pandemic. My style of teaching has been described as soft, soothing, and heart-opening. I teach because I hope others can use this sacred practice as a tool for calming, healing, and transformation. My Mission As a yoga teacher and doula, my mission is to create nurturing, empowering, trauma-informed care for all. My work is informed by global health research and grounded in social justice. I strive to equip all birthing people with evidence-based educational resources, connections to community support, and tools for embodiment and mind-body connection for birth and beyond. I am committed to serving my community by advocating for gender and reproductive rights. If you’d like to connect, please reach out: [email protected]
