About

I started yoga in 1968 while in high school.

When, as I not too jokingly say, there was only one kind of yoga - Hatha. I now teach classes that address postural, movement issues, and discomfort, along with yin and chair yoga classes that emphasize breath and finding comfort with mindful movement and meditation. I work with Hospice of Acadiana offering yoga for those dealing with grief and loss. I teach special classes at Miles Peret Cancer Services; Mindful Eating for Cancer Survivors being the most recent. I continue to study Integrative Therapeutic Essentials with Joseph LePage and Functional Movement with Maria Mendola. I have completed teacher training in Yin with Bernie Clark, Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Emerson of the Trauma Center, Chair yoga with Lakshmi Voelker, Lymphatic Yoga Level I with Edely Wallace, Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, Little Flower Kids Yoga Level I, Functional Movement and Advanced Postural Assessment with Maria Mendola, Yoga Nidra with Tara Fitzgibbon, Hannah Somatics, and Feldenkrais techniques, as well as workshops with Max Storm, Rolf Gates, David Williams, Brian Kest, David Keli, and more. I have also studied herbalism for more than 50 years and am presently studying the use of sound for addressing physical disfunction and pain relief.
