About
Lara Harsh (previously Lara Bache) completed her first teacher training in 2009, at an urban ashram in San Francisco, where she studied Greenpath Yoga, a style which blends vinyasa yoga and ecology.
In 2012, she began teaching at Santa Fe Community Yoga Center, a nonprofit that was struggling at the time, and graciously accepted the role of Executive Director in 2013. With the help of her team, she helped transform Santa Fe Community Yoga into a thriving 501(c)3, which still exists, now in a larger studio, and still runs the local Yoga in Schools and Yoga in Prisons programs. She stepped down as Executive Director in 2023, after over a decade of service, in order to focus more on her teaching and massage therapy business, and share the leadership responsibilities for this beloved community studio. She still teaches regularly at SFCYoga. While serving as ED, Lara received an award for nonprofit excellence, which is no small task in a city full of impressive nonprofits. She also attended a 300-hr yoga teacher training at Samadhi, in Denver, which she finished in August of 2019. That training included Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra, which she has incorporated into her teaching options ever since. Lara teaches yoga retreats, workshops, weekly classes, and for individuals and private groups. She loves using her diverse knowledge and training to find something comfortable yet challenging for her students. Her classes emphasize breath-centered movement, deep inner listening, a playful attitude, poetry, anatomy, and anything else that particular day calls for.
