My classes are for all, yet generally focus on supporting folks in substance use and/or behavioral health recovery. We'll zoom out to explore and practice each of the 8 Limbs, setting our minds, hearts and bodies at ease by building the foundations of compassion, gentleness, resilience and dedication to Self-development and community engagement.My initiation into Yoga around 2008 began with a focus on asana/postures, a common point of departure for many folks. I was guided to the Hollywood, CA YMCA classes (which were amazing) by an inner momentum and sincere search for depth, recovery and healing. As I continued to attend classes, the physically focused practice shifted toward cultivating intentionality, confidence, tolerance, fortitude, clarity, relief, forgiveness and openheartedness. My practice has matured, blossoming into a profoundly comprehensive and devotional unveiling of "true nature/Self." It has unfolded over the years and has fostered my capacity to serve as well.For me, Yoga is a path of awakening to presence and a commitment to stewardship. Sharing my humble grasp of and experiences with such a vast and complex field of wisdom is a great honor. Since then, I continue to practice and have taught Yoga within social service agencies to populations affected by domestic violence, substance use, incarceration, houselessness and severe mental illness.
