About
Laura is a 500-hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher trained in vinyasa yoga. In addition, she studied at the Kripalu Center with Nischala Joy Devi for a Yoga of the Heart certificate to learn to adapt yoga practices to the special needs of people living with health challenges.
She has taught classes in vinyasa and restorative styles as well as yoga for cancer survivors and for cyclists and runners. In addition, Laura is a NASM-certified personal trainer with a black belt in tae kwon do, mat-pilates certified teacher, and Center for Integrative Medicine trained reiki practitioner. Laura's special interest is in teaching students to use yoga to prevent injury and/or recover from sports-related injuries, stress management, and students with special needs. She credits her longevity as a martial artist to her daily practice of yoga that has developed her flexibility, focus and resilience. Laura believes in using yoga as a vehicle to maintain good physical, mental and emotional health. She uses deep relaxation exercises in class to cultivate a calm mind and heart and makes yoga philosophy and practices accessible to her students by encouraging them to integrate yoga into their daily lives. It is Laura's intention that her students will experience the best night sleep of their night after taking her class as well as enhanced flexibility with consistent class attendance and practice.
