About
My professional experience is primarily in public education.
I first worked as a high school Spanish teacher and adult educator, but spent most of my career working in Migrant Education as a Coordinator, Advocate, Recruiter, and Teacher. I worked to help the vulnerable children of migratory farm workers and working youth themselves reach their full academic potential. The Hispanic community in Todd and Muhlenberg Counties in Kentucky became a second family to me and I am humbled to serve such hard-working people.Personally I am daughter to my ever-supportive mother and my late father who I count as my biggest influence both personally and spiritually. I am life partner to the most gifted and kind servant leader to ever walk the planet and mom to two kind, talented young men who are my pride and joy. I will soon welcome a precious daughter-in-law into our family as well. Although I fail daily, my goal is to live a life that is pleasing to and honors the life of the Alpha and the Omega, Christ Jesus. I came to my yoga practice hoping to find relief for chronic hip and back pain. I found that and much more! I have come to use my yoga practice for more than just physical health. The wisdom gained from studying yoga, an in turn myself, has been invaluable. Coming to better know myself through yoga and Ayurveda have been life-changing. I opened my home-based studio in January 2018 and it has been my pleasure to guide others as well as learn from them on the mat. I am currently teaching classes at the Todd County Public Library and enjoy occasionally teaching specialty classes or workshops for my students, colleagues, and friends. As a certified yoga therapist, I love helping students use mindfulness, breath work, postures, and other tools to support wellness.I am a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance which acknowledges the completion of 200 RYT training with a Harmony Yoga in Bowling Green, KY (https://www.harmonytherayoga.com) and the 300 RYT/CYT training program at the Yoga Teachers' School of Excellence in Jackson, TN (http://www.yogatse.com).
