About
Lauren is a mother with creative energy and passion for helping others discover space in their bodies.
Originally from Maryland, she moved to NYC in 2002 to attend NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She studied physical acting for four years at the Experimental Theatre Wing. Although she'd taken yoga classes here and there, it wasn't until her first lesson with Lisa Stendig in 2007, founder of Embodiment Yoga and long-time student of Angela Farmer, that she had an "aha" moment with yoga and uncovered a style that brought unbelievable satisfaction. Lauren studied with Lisa for five years before Lisa moved out of state. Wanting to go deeper with yoga, Lauren completed Pure Yoga's 200-Hour & 300-Hour Teacher Trainings. In Spring 2017, Lauren decided to reboot health and wellness in her life. After years in marketing, she left the corporate world to spend more time with her toddler and teach more yoga. With playful teaching energy, she focuses on deep muscular poses to relax connective tissue. Her favorite pose is Gomukhasana; in yin yoga this is known as Shoelace Pose. Shoelace Pose provides an opening and release that makes her hips go "ahh."
