About

Yoga came to me as a teenager during a difficult period of grief, depression, and substance use, and it became an important support in my recovery.

Over the years, the practices have helped me steady, reconnect, and return to a sense of inner grounding—breath by breath. My lived experience informs my teaching, and I hold it with care and professionalism. In my classes, I prioritize safety, choice, and self-agency. I teach in an invitational style, offering options and encouraging students to listen to their own bodies. Rest, boundaries, and modifications are always welcome. My intention is to create a space that feels grounded, comforting, and accessible—especially for beginners and those who want a gentler approach.Bhakti yoga (the path of devotion) is central to my practice, and I enjoy weaving in mantra and devotional themes; I also love singing and leading kirtan. I bring warmth and playfulness through my background in Laughter Yoga (as taught by Dr. Madan Kataria). I’m trained in Chair Yoga and especially enjoy supporting older adults with simple, sustainable practices. My primary influences include Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga in the lineage of Krishnamacharya, Kripalu Yoga, and Gaudiya Vaishnavism as shared by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) with Yoga Alliance.
