Working in fundraising since 2013, Leesa knew she found joy in having compassion for others and contributing to their happiness and well-being, but she was looking for additional ways to have even more direct connections in giving back to others.
A high-energy and athletic person, Leesa also suffered from stress and back pain. Taking up yoga in 2008, Leesa discovered not only did it make her feel better and get her through the day, but it had become a passion. She was always promoting yoga’s benefits to others who brought it up, and soon she recognized that her passion for practicing yoga included a passion to teach it. Completing her 200-hour teacher training in November 2017 through a Yoga Alliance certified school, Leesa's goals as a teacher are to help people strengthen their bodies and minds so they can keep doing the things they love and start doing things they never thought they could. In addition to her passion for yoga, Leesa also enjoys creative projects, volunteering in the community, backpacking, snowboarding, cooking, gardening, trying local restaurants, and traveling.
