About
Dr.
Leigh Ann Perry is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Science at the US Naval War College. She began practicing yoga as a form of physical rehabilitation while recovering from surgery, but immediately fell in love with the beauty, strength and peacefulness of the practice. After several years of practicing, she decided to take the leap and become a yoga instructor, completing her 200-hour certification with Tula Yoga in NJ and is now the RI State Director for the Veterans Yoga Project. Leigh Ann enjoys teaching a variety of classes, from gentle yoga to upbeat vinyasa. She has her doctorate in Clinical and Community Psychology and teaches yoga as a way to promote mental health, well-being, and cognitive fitness. Leigh Ann's mission is to help others to realize they are stronger than they think they are - physically, emotionally, and cognitively - by encouraging her students to find strength and growth through mindful practices. Aside from yoga, Leigh Ann is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching football and baseball games with her family and friends whenever she gets a chance.
