About
Since the age of two, I have trained in Ballet, Tap and Jazz.
I added Hip Hop to my repertoire in high school and Modern dance in college. I am honored to have won numerous awards from dance competitions and have been able to create award-winning pieces of choreography. I feel extremely fortunate to have trained at The Ailey School in New York (home of The Alvin Ailey Dance Company) in 2001. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Dance from UCSD (2003), I went on to choreograph for Southwestern College, various San Diego musical productions and The La Jolla Playhouse, directed multiple competitive dance teams and continued to perform locally. You can even catch me in several movies and television shows. During this time, I diligently pursued my desire to become a certified personal trainer and teach Yoga (I fell in love with Yoga at the age of 18 and have been practicing ever since). I received my CPT certification in 2007 and completed my 200 HR Yoga teacher training certification under the tutelage of Kathy Lee Kappmeier in 2008. I received my Master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University where my thesis was based on “College Students’ Perceptions of Yoga Participation and Its Influence on Academic Success and Concentration”. I deeply believe everyone can benefit from Yoga practice. I also love performing and want to share my love of dance with the community of San Diego. At MIX, we strive to bring the arts, health and education to our clients.
