About
Creating connection is Leslie Glickman’s passion as a yoga teacher and community leader.
Yoga practitioners of all ages seek out her soul-stirring Saturday morning class at Boca Raton’s Sanborn Square where she offers an inclusive, balanced and fun practice. On any given Saturday nearly 200 yogis will be breathing and bending to Leslie’s sweet and encouraging instruction. Every New Year’s Day she hosts the largest outdoor yoga class in South Florida, Something Big! Last year close to 2,000 attendees chose to begin their year setting an intention with Leslie’s masterful guidance. This sense of strong community ties and family values has given her the ability to build a thriving yoga community at her studio Yoga Journey. Located at the Wyndham Hotel, the studio holds space for yogis of all ages and abilities. In addition to regularly scheduled yoga and meditation classes, the studio provides many other ways to connect with community. Yoga Journey graciously pairs yoga with Brunch at the acclaimed award-winning farm-to-table Farmer’s Table Restaurant. Another no-cost weekly offering is Lunch and Learn, a lovely après yoga discussion on yogic texts and topics held Friday afternoons at Trend Tea lounge. This unique holistic approach is Leslie’s vision for her studio as one that continuously provides healthy options to nourish body, expand the mind, and tend to the spirit. Students can expect attention to body in classes intelligently crafted with challenging yet inclusive sequences. Prepared to stretch their minds and hearts to new proportions with inspirational and wise narrative, students leave class feeling renewed and deeply soul restored. Leslie Glickman, the driving force behind Yoga Journey, was introduced to the practice of yoga, over 20 years ago. A dancer, gymnast and then gym owner she was looking for new ways to express her body. She discovered that yoga afforded a connection to self – body and mind – that was sustainable and enjoyable. She knew yoga would be in her life long term after her first few experiences. It allowed her to move her body in a way that would increase longevity and health. “This was life changing for me,” says Leslie. “I immediately began to seek knowledge from experienced teachers and immersed myself in learning from Sean Corn, Bryan Kest, Rodney Yee, Paul Grilley, Elena Brower, Dr. Ray Long and more. I knew I wanted to bring this practice to my family, friends and community. I wanted them to feel what I was feeling!” Using her deep knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology, Leslie then developed her comprehensive style of teaching – challenging yet compassionate, and always mindful of her student’s safety and comfort. She fuels her adventurous spirit leading yearly luxury yoga retreats to locations around the globe. This past year, intimate experiences with Leslie’s usual attention to detail in Kenya, the Amalfi Coast and Sedona were chosen destinations with plans to visit Cuba and India next year. Today her strong partnership with other spiritual leaders, conscious collaboration with local businesses like lululemon as brand ambassador, and her ability to create community connection have positioned Leslie as one of the most loved and respected teachers in South Florida.
