Lindsey began practicing yoga in as a complement to her fitness routine in college While in law school she realized how beneficial her practice was to lowering her stress levels As she attended more yoga classes at various studios she became interested in how yoga helps move energy and emotions through the body Before becoming a teacher Lindsey was the victim of a hit-and-run car accident that left her with a brain contusion and PTSD She gained a very intense intimate relationship with her nervous system as she battled to get her brain and body integrated again after the accident As she attempted to navigate and explore the now unfamiliar world she found herself on her mat more often She credits yoga and qigong as a healing modality that helped her understand herself again after spending months in total disorientation Because of this experience she strives to offer classes that invite compassionate curiosity and awareness while also keeping the nervous system in mind She whole-heartedly believes yoga will support you in decoding the messages your body emotions mind and spirit are sending you Her classes will meet you where you are help you cultivate self-compassion and assist you in navigating your inner world with more ease Off the mat she and her husband enjoy the privilege of parenting two young energetic boys In addition to chasing her kids around you can often find her reading pondering existential thoughts meditating with her crystal collection or playing guitar She maintains a law practice with her father in Oklahoma City Lindsey is a proud graduate of the Hoffman Process and is a certified Reiki Shoden She is extremely grateful to be a part of the This Land Yoga community.
